He signed for Chelsea at the age of eight and having been sent out on numerous loans, Trevoh Chalobah must have thought he was never going to make the grade at Stamford Bridge.
But the 22-year-old was rewarded for his fine performance in last week’s Super Cup with a first Premier League start when the Blues took on Crystal Palace in Saturday’s season opener.
And if that weren’t good enough, he capped a day to remember with a brilliant strike from 25-yards to make it 3-0 in the second half.
Just look what it meant to him.
