Dybala on his Roma future
Paulo Dybala has spoken for the first time about his Roma future amid links with Chelsea.
The Argentine is reportedly of interest to Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge, who last week conducted his first press conference as Blues boss and opened the door for a further striker signing.
Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku have already come through the door this transfer window, but with Romelu Lukaku expected to leave then Pochettino could look to bring in a new face and his countryman is reportedly of interest.
But Dybala is not looking to leave Roma, telling LaRoma24: “I’m happy to be at Roma, of course. Am I staying here? Yes we are starting training tomorrow.”
Man United set Onana deadline
Manchester United are expected to seal the €50m signing of Andre Onana from Inter Milan this week with a 72-hour deadline set to complete the deal.
Fabrizio Romano says Onana is United’s sole goalkeeper target and a £43m agreement is close to being met.
United want to wrap up a deal quickly after hopes of keeping David de Gea ended over the weekend. David Raya, Justin Bijlow and Kevin Trapp are potential options as a contingency plan but Erik ten Hag is said to have eyes only for Onana.
Hojlund drops transfer hint
Rasmus Hojlund has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and even his personal trainer is getting involved.
Working with trainer Ibrahim Junior Mansaray has uploaded a video of the 20-year-old Atalanta striker taking part in fitness drills and ball work, with the caption “We ready for what’s next”, along with a ‘ssshing’ emoji.
Hojlund is not due back for pre-season training until next week but is working hard nonetheless.
Spurs to sign Solomon today
Spurs have been busy this summer and look like kicking off the new week with a third new signing of the summer.
Fabrizio Romano claims Manor Solomon has almost wrapped up his move to Tottenham and it will be officially announced today.
Munich to make new Harry Kane bid
Bayern Munich are reportedly poised to submit their next offer for Harry Kane.
The reigning Bundesliga champions have already seen one bid for the England captain knocked back by Tottenham this summer.
But Bayern are undeterred and The Mail on Sunday report they are now due to table an improved proposal for Kane – Thomas Tuchel’s No1 transfer target – that could be worth almost £70m with add-ons.
However, that is said to be at the “upper end” of what Bayern are willing to pay for a player with only 12 months left on his current contract and not nearly enough to convince Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to sell.
Kane is due to return to pre-season training at Spurs this week, when he will hold crunch talks with chairman Levy and manager Ange Postecoglou.
ICYMI: Tottenham consider Marc Cucurella move
Tottenham are also being very tentatively linked with Marc Cucurella at Chelsea this weekend.
The Blues have been looking to offload the Spanish left-back this summer just one year after his £63m switch from Brighton following a dreadful first season in which he struggled badly for form and was even booed by his own fans.
Chelsea have sought potential buyers in Saudi Arabia amid interest from Atletico Madrid, though Standard Sport reported on Friday that Cucurella was discouraging potential moves as he wants to fight for his future under new boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Football Transfers now claim that Spurs are closely monitoring Cucurella’s situation and are ready to bring him in as a replacement for Ivan Perisic, who looks likely to leave London himself in this window after only one year.
ICYMI: Arsenal to make fresh move for Ivan Fresneda
Arsenal were keen on signing Ivan Fresneda in January, and they could go back in for the right-back this window.
Mundo Deportivo suggest that the Gunners have started to turn their attention back to Fresneda, having initially been focused on the likes of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz.
It’s claimed the 18-year-old could be available for £17m, but Barcelona are also strongly linked with a move.
ICYMI: Man United have decided to sell Harry Maguire
Man United want to sell Harry Maguire and three other first-team players before the end of the window.
The Independent report that Erik ten Hag has decided Maguire has no future at Old Trafford, and while he is valued at £50m, West Ham are among the clubs hoping he could be available for £35m.
Jadon Sancho, Scott McTominay and Fred could also be sold in the next few weeks, it’s claimed.
ICYMI: Declan Rice passes Arsenal medical
Arsenal are edging closer to an official announcement over the signings of Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber.
Reports yesterday stated that both players have now passed their respective medicals in north London before moves from West Ham and Ajax.
Arsenal will pay a club-record £100m up front for England midfielder Rice – also a new record fee for a British player – with another £5m in add-ons.
Meanwhile, versatile Dutch defender Timber will cost an initial £34.2m plus another £4.3m in add-ons.
It can’t be long now until we get official confirmation from Arsenal! Watch this space…
