Tottenham have decided against appointing Gennaro Gattuso as their new manager, according to The Athletic.
Gattuso was considered the new frontrunner on Thursday following his departure from Fiorentina after just 22 days in charge.
Conversations took place between Spurs and the 43-year-old – much like with Paulo Fonseca – but talks broke down with the club now looking for alternative candidates.
There was also significant backlash from Spurs supporters on social media regarding comments from Gattuso on racism and the role of women in football.
The hashtag #NoToGattuso was trending in the United Kingdom last night.
Tottenham have now seen talks break down with Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte, Hansi Flick, Fonseca and Gattuso as their search for a new head coach continues.
