Transfer News: Manchester United to sanction four signings this summer
According to the Daily Mail , Manchester United have sanctioned four summer signings that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can make in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Red Devils go into the off-season following a disappointing end to the 2020/21 campaign. Certain deficiencies have been laid bare in our squad and will need immediate readdressing.
Having finished 12 points behind Manchester City, United are keen to close the gap at the top next season. As long as we make the right moves this summer, there is no reason why we cannot do just that.
One of the four already has a name in Jadon Sancho. The 21-year-old is Solskjaer’s top priority and would be an excellent addition to our dynamic frontline.
While we are yet to put a name on the other three players, it is only fair to assume one of them will be a centre-back. The Red Devils have struggled in the absence of Harry Maguire and cannot afford to not bring in a dependable partner for the skipper.
The likes of Raphael Varane and Pau Torres are both linked with us and it remains to be seen who we choose to go for.
Despite acknowledging the fact that investment is needed, executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and football director John Murtough are wary of sanctioning a high turnover of players in a single window. )
While four new players would certainly be welcome, it will matter for little unless we bring in the right ones. It promises to be an interesting summer at the Theatre of Dreams.
