Manchester City defender Rúben Dias has been awarded the Premier League’s Player of the Season award.
It keeps the award, sponsored by EA Sports’ FIFA, at the Etihad after Kevin De Bruyne’s victory last season.
Dias had an instant impact for the champions in his debut campaign, appearing in 32 games and contributing to 15 clean sheets during that span.
The former Benifca man is just the fourth defender to win the honour after Nemanja Vidić, Vincent Kompany and Virgil van Dijk.
The public vote was combined with those of the 20 club captains and a panel of football experts to determine Dias as the winner.
It is his second individual award after also claiming the Football Writers’ Player of the Season.
