A rift is slowly emerging at Inter, ahead of Romelu Lukaku’s impending sale to Chelsea this summer, with a move now expected to go through in the next 48 hours.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported about a mutiny amongst the Inter management, claiming that Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio and Simone Inzaghi have expressed their displeasure about Lukaku’s potential sale. They believe that the Belgian’s sale could be a serious loss to the club from a technical point of view.
But the last word belongs to the Zhang family and Oaktree fund, who want to earn a fee from Lukaku’s sale even though the football men at the club aren’t happy with the decision.
From the Belgian’s sale, Inter would earn at least €60 million, with 6 percent of the fee set to go to Manchester United because of the sell-on clause and 5 percent set to go to FIFA solidarity contribution.
Corriere dello Sport have claimed that Inzaghi is ‘furious’ about this move from the club – another indication at the rift at the club.
