PSG striker Kylian Mbappe has offered a no holds barred interview amid fresh speculation of a move to Real Madrid before next week’s transfer deadline.
Speaking with Esquire, Mbappe said of Ligue 1 that “it is not the best championship in the world but I feel the responsibility to help it grow”.
And although at no time was he questioned about possibly signing for Real Madrid, he does talk about his relationship with some of his teammates.
“A team is not a group of friends. You don’t have to dine with your teammates every night to win,” he stated.
On an individual level, he has no qualms about praising himself.
He said, “Few change their position like me, in playing in all the positions of a forward. I don’t think everyone is capable of changing position every year and maintaining a great performance at the highest level.
“Yes, I think I’m a star: when your face is everywhere in the city and in the world, that’s for sure.”
