Manchester United are planning for Raphael Varane to undergo his mandatory medical at the club today, should the player return a negative COVID-19 test. The 28-year-old arrived in England last week and has been quarantining since.
An agreement in principle between Manchester United and Real Madrid was announced last month but an issue with Varane’s visa and then quarantine has held the deal up, meaning that formal completion of the deal is yet to come.
But according to the Manchester Evening News, the defender could be having his medical as early as today. The publication claims that the club wants to do it today with the player eager to start training on Wednesday in order to claim a starting spot for the match against Leeds on Saturday.
Furthermore, it’s claimed that despite possibly having his medical today, the plan is still to officially confirm the signing tomorrow, with his contract expected to be signed on Wednesday morning.
