Earlier on Tuesday, a report claimed that Raphael Varane was due to undergo a medical at Manchester United on Tuesday after quarantining for five days, having arrived in England last week.
That was according to the Manchester Evening News, who also claimed that Varane wanted to start training as early as on Wednesday in order to earn a starting role for Sunday’s Premier League curtain-raiser against Leeds.
Now, MEN has provided an update on the situation and claims that Varane has arrived at Carrington for his medical. The report features an image of a blacked-out van, as seen above, with the four-time Champions League winner believed to be pictured arriving at the training complex.
Varane will now complete all the necessary medical checks with the club and is expected to sign his contract tomorrow morning before shooting promotional shots and material for his unveiling, which is expected to fall in the afternoon.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had previously hoped that Varane would be available for Sunday’s game against Leeds but he will need the club to register the defender before midday on Friday for him to be eligible.
