In a slight contrast to L’Équipe’s update this morning, the reliable Canal Supporters are now reporting that an agreement is close between Paul Pogba’s representatives and PSG.
Exchanges between Pogba (28) and the Paris club are progressing in the right direction to the point where an agreement is near to being reached, with the French international now prioritising joining PSG.
In terms of salary, Pogba is set to become the third highest player at PSG behind Neymar and Kylian Mbappé.
However, the fee remains a sticking point. L’Équipe’s earlier report suggested a bid of €50m may be enough to tempt Manchester United into selling with only a year left on Pogba’s contract. However, Canal Supporters suggest United would initially aim for between €70m and €80m.
There remains some distance to go here as PSG will likely need to make significant player sales in order to finance the move and there is nothing new on any agreement between the clubs involved, just PSG and the player himself.
