There was a twist in the title race, an unwelcome return for Antonio Cone and late drama at the bottom.
Here is what we made of a captivating day in the Premier League.
Cause for concern for Arsenal?
Mikel Arteta will not be a happy man tonight.
The Gunners failed to get back to winning ways following last week’s shock defeat to Everton as they slipped up at home to Brentford.
Thomas Frank’s side came to frustrate the league leaders and played their game plan to perfection, with the Bees having an argument to say they had more chances to win the game.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise to many that Brentford have pulled off this result, considering they have gone to the Etihad and won this season as well as thumping both Manchester United and Liverpool at their place.
Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbeuemo’s partnership gave Arsenal’s defence a nightmare all afternoon but it’s done the other end that will raise more concern for Arteta, as Arsenallooked particularly blunt.
It has changed the complexion of Wednesday’s meeting with Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola’s side having the chance to close the gap at the top to three points if they beat Aston Villa tomorrow.

Painful return for Antonio
Antonio Conte returned to the dugout for the first time since undergoing gallbladder surgery as Spurs rocked up at the King Power Stadium.
He might wish he could’ve stayed in his hospital bed after the performance his team put in.
Tottenham went into the half-time break 3-1 down despite having taken the lead through Rodrigo Bentancur in the 14th minute. They have now conceded 18 goals in the first half alone this season, a feat only worsened by relegation zone sides Bournemouth and Southampton.
They never looked like getting back into the game in the second half with Dejan Kulusevski having what is possibly his worst game for the club and Harry Kane kept quiet by Harry Souttar.
This was a chance to move into the top four and build on last week’s huge win over Manchester City but inconsistency has been the story of Tottenham’s season and it reared it’s ugly head again this afternoon.

The mysterious Mr.Fox
As for Leicester, what a bonkers season they are having.
The Foxes have been flirting with the relegation zone all season with Brendan Rodgers seeming likely to have his head plonked firmly on the chopping block for the majority of the campaign.
A seven-game winless run at the start of the season left them at the foot of the table before a mini-turnaround before the World Cup break gave them hope for the new year.
But four straight defeats following the return raised alarm bells again until the last two games which has seen Leicester see off Aston Villa and Tottenham, scoring four goals in each match.
The impact of new signings Souttar and Tete have galvanised the team while Kelechi Iheanacho’s presence up front appears to knit together the attack better than Patson Daka and Jamie Vardy have been able to do.
Perhaps Rodgers has turned the ship after all.
Saints rooted to the bottom
Southampton1
Wolves2
That might just be the final nail in Nathan Jones’ coffin.
It was looking good for Southampton for a large portion of today, moving ahead thanks to Carlos Alcaraz’s 25th-minute goal before Mario Lemina was sent off for Wolvesmoments later.
However, the Saints conspired to lose to ten-men with two late goals – the winner coming from debutant Joao Gomes off the bench.
Jones reportedly aggravated the Southampton board with his post-match comments after the defeat to Brentford last Saturday according to The Athletic.
It’s seven defeats from eight games under the Welshman for Southampton and they look capable of being cut adrift at the bottom of the table.
It’s not looking good for the former Luton man after this late show.
Willian rolls back the years
Fulham2
Nottingham Forest0
Willian is out here proving age is just a number.
The 34-year-old rolled back the years at Craven Cottage on Saturday as he inspired Fulham to a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
The former Chelsea man created three chances, completed 85% of his passed and turned Renan Lodi inside before rifling a shot into the top corner to break the deadlock in the first half.
Willian looks fitter, leaner and back to his creative best.
Marco Silva’s men are on their way to booking themselves a European journey next season, and their playmaker looks central to it all
