Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insists Robert Lewandowski will not be leaving the club this summer.
Lewandowski enjoyed another standout campaign for the Bavarians and finished with 41 goals – one more than Gerd Müller’s record of 40 in 1971/72.
However, some reports have claimed that the 32-year-old rejected a new contract amid interest from England, but Rummenigge was quick to reject such claims.
“But tell me yourself: who would sell a player who can score 60 goals a year, who at 32 is the best player in the world? Bayern will not sell him.
“It is currently the greatest diamond in world football, he shines the most.”
David Alaba is already confirmed to be leaving the club with Real Madrid the reported front-runners for his signature.
