XAVI NO LONGER RULING OUT RE-SIGNING NEYMAR THIS SUMMER – REPORT
Neymar has once again become a hot prospect in the transfer market, as he looks to embark on a new adventure elsewhere this summer.
The Brazilian has been linked with a return to Barcelona recently, and while the Catalan club have been open to the move, manager Xavi Hernandez has had some reservations about such an operation this summer.
Xavi has not ruled out Neymar’s return
However, the 43-year-old tactician has softened his stance recently and is now no longer ruling out a move for Neymar reports MARCA (h/t FCB World).
The Spanish news outlet suggests Xavi’s attitude towards Neymar has changed of late.
The Barcelona coach was a thorn in Barcelona’s bid to bring back Neymar, as he did not want the Brazilian to return to Camp Nou, while president Joan Laporta was in favour of the move.
However, with Xavi now altering his stance, Barcelona could think about signing the PSG superstar, especially if they end up missing out on Bernardo Silva.
WIll Neymar return to Barcelona?
Neymar has other options
Although Neymar is reportedly keen on sealing a fabled return to Camp Nou, he does have other options on the table.
The former Barcelona star is being courted by Premier League clubs, having been linked with a move to Chelsea in the past.
Neymar was also approached by Saudi Arabia recently, although the player has not yet shown any desire to move to the Middle East.
There has been talk of him moving to Saudi Arabia before being loaned to Barcelona for a season, but such an operation appears too complicated to pull off at this time.
However, it must be noted that if Barcelona do end up making a move to re-sign Neymar, the player is likely to hold back on other options, as he looks for one last dance in Catalonia.
