Paris Saint-Germain boast the most exciting front three in world football, but one of them could be set to leave the club in the near future.
That’s because the French side’s Qatari owners reportedly want to cut the club’s wage bill by 30 per cent by the end of the next transfer window – meaning one of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe or Neymar would likely have to be sacrificed.
According to The Times, the spending reduction is driven by a UEFA Financial Fair Play settlement agreement and with PSG’s three elite forwards among the highest earners at the club, getting one off the wage bill seems the most likely scenario.

Messi, Neymar or Mbappe – Who will leave PSG?
Messi is out of contract at PSG this summer and is yet to commit to signing a new deal at the club.
His current contract sees him net €35 million (£31m) a year, after tax, but there are unsurprisingly a host of clubs interested in securing the Argentine’s signature.
Barcelona are said to be keen to bring Messi ‘back home’, while there is also interest from Inter Miami in the MLS.
With Cristiano Ronaldo now playing for Al-Nassr, there is also the chance Messi could join the Portuguese star in signing for a Saudi league club.
But while Messi certainly appears the most likely of PSG’s attacking trio to leave, the club may want to cash in on Neymar – having already made him available for transfer in the summer.
Neymar is entitled to the same basic wage as Messi until 2025, with the option of extending for a further year.
But given the Brazilian’s persistent injury problems, PSG are now open to the idea of selling the forward.
The problem, however, is that few clubs can match the wage demands of the 31-year-old and PSG reportedly received no offers for his services last summer.
As for Mbappe – the Frenchman’s contract situation poses the club’s biggest dilemma.
PSG are desperately keen to hold on to Mbappe and made him a number of promises last year in order to keep the 24-year-old satisfied.
Yet, Mbappe allegedly believes these assurances have not been kept and has grown frustrated with the club’s failure to improve the overall squad.
Messi, Mbappe and Neymar’s incredible numbers
If one of PSG’s big three do leave the club, then football fans must savour the trio in action together while they still can.
Between them, the three have scored 61 goals this season, with Messi netting 16, Neymar 18 and Mbappe 27.
Yet, despite these numbers, PSG may find themselves eliminated from the Champions League, unless they can overturn a 1-0 deficit to Bayern Munich.
The French side have it all to do in the second leg against the German outfit, but given their world-class forward line, they’re more than capable of turning things around
