Manchester United1
Scorers: Fred (OG) 30′; Greenwood 55′.
Manchester United have equalled the record for the longest Premier League unbeaten run away from home of 27 games after coming from behind to draw against Southampton.
The hosts took the lead against the run of the after half an hour when Ché Adams’ low drive took a wicked deflection off the foot of Fred before diverting into the bottom corner past David De Gea.
Bruno Fernandes appeared to be fouled by Saints defender Jack Stephens in the build-up to the goal and was booked for showing dissent at the decision.
Fernandes wasn’t unhappy for long as United equalised 10 minutes into the second half with Mason Greenwood firing low through the legs of Alex McCarthy after being found by Paul Pogba inside the area.
Adam Armstrong will be left wondering whether he could have won the game for his new team as the striker was played through on goal in the 74th minute but was denied while one-on-one by De Gea.
Alli penalty punishes wasteful Wolves
Wolves0
Tottenham1
Scorers: Alli (PEN) 10′.
Dele Alli’s 10th-minute penalty was enough to earn Tottenham Hotspur the three points as they held off a Wolves side that spurned a raft of goalscoring chances at Molineux.
Alli stepped up to slot home his spot-kick after being fouled by the hosts’ goalkeeper José Sá for the decisive goal.
Bruno Lage will be wondering how his team didn’t at least earn a point as they cut open Nuno Espírito Santo’s side at will on his return to the club.
Raúl Jiménez placed a shot just over the bar after being found by Adama Traore and the Spanish winger should’ve found the net himself when he was denied by Hugo Lloris after running directly through on goal.
Harry Kane made his first appearance of the season from the bench for Spurs, who keep up their 100% start to the campaign.
