Liverpool are said to be in discussions with agent Mino Raiola over a potential move for Donyell Malen this summer, according to a Dutch reporter.
PSV seem resigned to the fact that the attacker is going to be leaving the club this summer window, with a number of Europe’s top clubs linked.
And, according to Voetbal International journalist Marco Timmer – via Sport Witness – the Reds have entered discussions with Raiola over a potential deal for his Dutch client.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
It’s certainly a big claim getting made from the Netherlands and we’ll have to just see whether it heads anywhere or whether it is just more speculation that we get at this time of year.
Malen is a good player, though, and is one that you could see fitting our profile nicely in terms of what the club looks for for attackers.
He has pace, versatility and an eye for goal whilst he can play in a front three, so a lot of boxes are ticked.
Whether that’s enough to see the Reds actually make a move remains to be seen, though, and we’ll also have to deal with any demands Raiola ends up making.
