Fernando Torres has returned home. The Atlético Madrid legend returns to the club to coach one of their academy teams.
Torres will be in charge of Atlético Madrid Juvenil A for the 2021/22 season. The 37-year-old, who last season spent time with different academy teams to get to know the day-to-day workings of their coaching staff and the club’s own methodology, will take a further step in his coaching journey by embarking on his first spell in the dugout.
The former Spain striker said farewell to the club as a player on 20 May 2018 in a match against Eibar. El Niño did so with a brace on a very emotional day for both himself and Atlético.
