Transfer News: Borussia Dortmund seeking £77m for Manchester United target Jadon Sancho
According to Sport1 (h/t The Metro), Manchester United will now have to pay just £77m to land Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho this summer.
The Red Devils were keen to make a move for the 21-year-old last summer. However, the Germans were unwilling to lower their £103m asking price, much to United’s annoyance.
A year on, they are open to reducing the price. It was reported earlier that Dortmund are willing to part ways with their star man for £80m.
As things stand, Dortmund have further lowered their asking price by a further £3m.
Negotiations are currently underway and both sides appear to be closing in on an agreement. Given the upside to Sancho’s talent, United might very well be landing themselves a bargain.
A new right-winger has been one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s priority signings for several years. In Sancho, the club might just have found the right man for the job.
Completing a deal as quickly as possible will be in United’s best interests. Having the English international available for a full pre-season could make all the difference in the world.
