Manchester United fans all over the world have been left swooning over Amad Diallo after the teenager came on to score a last-minute winner for Ivory Coast against Burkina Faso. The hosts were being held to a draw deep into stoppage time when Amad, a second-half substitute, scored an incredible free-kick.
Amad made his Ivory Coast debut in the last camp, just under three months ago, but has already impressed enough to earn him a recall. The teenager, who many believe to be the best youth product from Atalanta’s successful academy in modern history, will be aiming to impress on international duty before returning to United for pre-season preparations.
With big expectations already put on Amad’s future, the euphoric moment when the ball hit the back of Burkina Faso’s net won’t have done him any harm.
The former Atalanta man is one of many United youngsters who will be assessed this summer ahead of the 2021/22 season and should a loan move be ruled out, it is expected that he will feature more prominently for the first team.
