Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Jamaican winger Leon Bailey from Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen.
The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at Villa Park until 2025.
Bailey scored 39 goals and provided 22 assists during his three-and-a-half year stay at Leverkusen.
Speaking to the club’s official website, head coach Dean Smith said: “Leon is a hugely exciting young striker with great pace and creativity.
“He has enjoyed a successful career at Leverkusen and we are now looking forward to watching him show his skills and talents for Aston Villa in the Premier League.”
Villa, who are reportedly expecting to lose captain Jack Grealish to Manchester City, have moved for Norwich City’s Emi Buendia and have a bid turned down for Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse during the transfer window.
