Arsenal’s preparations for the new season were dealt a blow when they lost Thomas Partey to injury in Sunday’s friendly with Chelsea.

Partey made a bright start and showed some nice touches in the early stages of The Mind Series clash at the Emirates.
But soon after Kai Havertz had put Chelsea 1-0 up, the Ghanaian midfielder was forced to limp off with what appeared to be an ankle injury. Granit Xhaka came on to replace him.
The Gunners officially kick off their season against Brentford in 12 days time, with another friendly fixture against rivals Tottenham to come next Sunday.
