REAL MADRID SEE IT DIFFICULT TO SIGN MBAPPE THIS SUMMER, AWAITING MOVE FROM PSG OR PLAYER
Real Madrid’s dream to sign Kylian Mbappe two seasons ago began as something the management wanted but did not desperately need. If the team’s pre-season games so far are anything to go by, the situation has radically turned.
Karim Benzema’s departure was always going to put pressure on the young forwards.
Real Madrid’s recent defeats against Barcelona and Juventus go on to exemplify the need for a proven goalscorer in the ranks. The men in white created chances galore on both occasions but paid the price for lacking a finisher.
Many now feel that Mbappe’s immediate arrival is the need of the hour, but according to Mario Cortegana, Real Madrid believe that it is difficult to rope in the World Cup winner this summer.
The administration are waiting for the steps of Paris Saint-Germain and the player himself to see how it will progress.
What next for Mbappe?
Will Mbappy stay at PSG or leave?
Last month, Mbappe had two viable options on his table. Along with the option to leave the French club immediately, the youngster had the choice to renew his deal with them.
All that changed when he failed to communicate his decision by the deadline of July 31st.
PSG now see his sale to be the only way out and are even close to signing Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele as a replacement.
Reports suggest that Mbappe will not be called up for PSG’s Ligue 1 opener against Lorient on August 12th and it is clear that he will be banished to the stands if he does not leave.
The player is firm about his desire to sign for Real Madrid, and despite the pessimism within the club, the latest development turns the odds in their favour.
