Romelu Lukaku was sent off after scoring a late penalty in Juventus and Inter’s fiery Coppa Italia semi-final first leg stalemate.

Both teams made a host of changes for Tuesday’s third Derby d’Italia of the season as Simone Inzaghi’s reigning holders started the stronger.

Vlahović attempted to build on the attacking impetus Juve showed in the opening 45 minutes but met Fagioli’s delivery with an awkward effort.

Filip Kostić went marginally closer when letting fly shortly before the hour mark as his shot whistled over Handanović’s crossbar.

Inter almost took the lead after Dimarco set Mkhitaryan clear as the Armenia international dummied Manuel Locatelli and dragged a shot just wide of Perin’s right-hand post.

Substitute Arkadiusz Milik missed a gilt-edged chance during the game’s final quarter when Juan Cuadrado threaded a ball across the face of goal which he failed to connect with.

Cuadrado appeared to have Juve took a slender advantage into the return leg at San Siro with a sweeping close-range finish just seven minutes from time.

Yet Inter snatched an equaliser from the penalty spot in the fourth minute of added time after a handball by Bremer before his overenthusiastic celebration delivered a second booking, which rules him out of the return leg.
