Dortmund climbed to within three points of the Bundesliga summit, beating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1.
Scorers: Kamada 26′; Brandt 21′, Bellingham 53′
The visitors took an early lead as, continuing in his fine vein of form, Julian Brandt put his side ahead. Collecting Donyell Malen’s cross the German winger composed himself before firing a low shot between the legs of Kevin Trapp.
Dortmund’s lead, however, didn’t last long as five minutes later Eintracht struck back.
Daichi Kamada is afforded too much space on the edge of the penalty area and finds the bottom corner, somewhat wrongfooting Gregor Kobel, to draw the hosts level.
Frankfurt ended the first half as the stronger of the two sides but were dealt a hammer blow not long after the restart.
Playing a neat give-and-go with Youssoufa Moukoko, Jude Bellingham cut inside and struck a left-footed shot as Dortmund regained the advantage.
Frankfurt pushed for an equaliser and, but for a string of top-class stops by Kobel, they would’ve found it.
With this win Dortmund climb in third place on 22 points leapfrogging Eintracht in fifth on 20 points.
